5:00 am: Wake Up Time

Neil rises early every day, prioritizing his children’s needs as the first task. He cherishes this morning family time, during which he prepares breakfast, helps them get ready for the day, and spends quality moments together.

Quote: “I’m an early riser, mainly because my kids wake up early and they cry. So, you got to pick them up, feed them their milk. I love it to death. And then I brush my teeth.”

6:00 am: Neil Patel’s Morning Exercise

Neil’s exercise routine is high-intensity interval training (HIIT), lasting 15-30 minutes. He follows short workouts from free YouTube videos, like those by Joe, The Body Coach. Even while traveling, Neil keeps up with his workouts. Sometimes, when he’s less motivated, he reduces his workouts to five times a week.

Quote: “I usually follow a guy named Joe, The Body Coach… the lessons are usually just 15 to 20 minutes and they don’t require equipment or weights. And when I’m traveling, I can do them too.”

6:30 to 7:30 pm: Email Correspondence

Neil begins his morning by tackling a mountain of emails, dedicating about an hour to this task. He carefully reviews, prioritizes, and responds to messages, ensuring that he’s up-to-date with important communications and can start his day with a clear inbox. This routine helps him stay organized and focused, setting a productive tone for the rest of the day.

Quote: “This is when I answer emails. Even though I go to sleep with my inbox checked, I wake up with a lot of emails. Keep in mind, my company has over 700 employees and 900 plus clients, so, I got to answer those emails.”

7:30 am- 8:00 am: Morning Reading

Neil’s morning reading includes updates on the economy and marketing industry. He keeps an eye on things like Google’s stock performance and algorithm changes, focusing on trends and news in the marketing world and major platforms. This helps him stay current and adjust his strategies as needed.

Quote: “Typically, I read what’s happening in the economy, or even in the marketing industry. From Google’s stock price to algorithm updates, I try to stay in touch with anything happening with the marketing industry, as well as the platforms that are publicly traded.”

8:00 am to 12 noon: Neil Patel’s Morning Work Session

Neil allocates two hours in the morning for calls, keeping them efficient and brief, usually around 15 minutes. He avoids long, hour-long conversations. He also spends an hour studying marketing practices from various industries, using tools like Ubersuggest and SimilarWeb to gain insights and ideas that he can apply to his own work.

Quote: “I look at people’s marketing. Seriously, I block off an hour in my day to study other people’s marketing, and not just people in my industry. I literally look at sites in all verticals, and that way, I can see what they’re doing, what’s working, and learn from them. You can use tools from Ubersuggest to SimilarWeb to give you this data. This gives me ideas on what people are doing, and maybe I can take some of those approaches and tactics and apply it to my industry.”

12:00 Noon to 1:00 pm: Lunch

Neil skips breakfast and follows a 16/8 intermittent fasting routine that works well for him. He avoids too much sugar and coffee. Neil is a big fan of Indian food and often says, “I eat Indian food a lot; it’s my favorite.”

Quote: “This is my first meal of the day. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but I do intermittent fasting, and this helps give me more energy. I’m not saying you should do it or you shouldn’t; it’s just how my body operates. I also don’t really eat much sugar and I don’t drink coffee. I also try to do meetings during lunch so I can kill two birds with one stone. If I don’t have a meeting, I’m usually able to finish up my lunch in 15 minutes.”

1:00pm to 2:30pm: Shooting Content

Neil Patel spends time creating different types of content and personally writes his own YouTube scripts.

Quote: “I create content. Whether it’s for social media or videos, or even blog posts, or just thinking about ideas, I create time for content. For example, I write my own YouTube scripts. Even if it only takes a few hours to film 16 videos each month, it takes me roughly eight hours to write out my scripts and come up with ideas.”

3:00pm to 6:00 pm: Evening Work Session

In the evening, Neil spends at least an hour talking with fellow marketers. He stays informed by reading industry and global news, understanding how world events can significantly impact marketing trends.

Quote: “I read. From industry websites to news websites like BBC, I like to know what’s happening in the marketing industry, as well as what’s happening in the world. Keep in mind, the world affects marketing. For example, we saw this in 2020, COVID shut down a lot of factories and it caused E-commerce to boom. That’s an example of what happens in the world can affect marketing.”

6:00 pm to 6:30 pm: Dinner Time

Neil prioritizes family dinners, recognizing their importance for bonding and teaching his children the value of family time. He emphasizes including whole foods in his meals, such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats.

Quote: “I eat dinner with my family. I don’t do this every single day, but I do try to eat dinner with my wife and kids whenever possible, majority of the time I do it. I want to keep my family as a unit, and I think it’s very important. So that way, when my kids grow up, they understand the value of family time and spending with each other.”

7pm onwards: Quality Time

Neil places high importance on having meaningful conversations with his wife and ensures he dedicates quality time to connect with her. He sees these moments as crucial for maintaining their relationship and deepening their bond.
